Product information management software development.

A product information management system holds the definitive facts about everything a company sells, and sends them to every place the products are listed.

We build it to order, around the way you work, or extend and connect the one you already have.

01What it is

In plain words.

A product information management system holds the definitive facts about everything a company sells, and sends them to every place the products are listed.

Product data starts in a spreadsheet and ends in chaos. The ERP has a code and a cryptic description, marketing has a nicer name in a different file, the website shows last season's dimensions, and each marketplace wants the same facts in a format of its own.

A PIM is the single place where a product's information is completed, checked and approved, then published to each channel in the shape that channel demands. It is the product equivalent of a customer data platform.

02What it includes

Every part, explained.

6 parts. Each can be built by itself; together they are one system.

01

Product catalogue management

Categories, families, variants, bundles and relationships such as accessories and replacements, with a structure that suits how customers look for products.

02

SKU management

Every sellable unit with its codes, barcodes, units of measure, pack sizes and status, kept in step with the ERP and free of duplicates.

03

Product data

Names, descriptions, features, images, documents and translations, with completeness rules per channel so a product cannot be published half-described.

04

Product specifications

Technical attributes held as real values with units, not as text: dimensions, materials, ratings, certifications and compliance data, comparable and filterable.

05

Multi-channel product information

One product, published to the website, the app, marketplaces, print catalogues, distributor feeds and data pools, each in its required format and language.

06

Product data enrichment

Filling the gaps: extracting attributes from supplier sheets and old descriptions, standardising units and terms, classifying to industry schemes and writing channel-ready copy for a product manager to approve.

Buy, extend or build?

Buy a PIM if your catalogue is consumer goods with ordinary attributes. Build when the products are technical and the attribute model is deep, when the catalogue must stay in step with an ERP material master, or when enrichment at scale is the real job and packaged tools leave it to manual entry.

Where intelligence fits

Turning messy product descriptions into clean, structured specifications is the problem our flagship enterprise product was built for, on industrial material records. The same method applies here: classify, extract the attributes, standardise, match duplicates, and attach a confidence so people review only what is doubtful.

04How we build it

Five steps, in the open.

  1. 01

    Listen

You describe the work and where it hurts. We look at the systems and the data you have now.

  2. 02

    Specify

A written specification: what the system does, what it does not, what it connects to and how we will know it works. A clear quote before any work starts.

  3. 03

    Build in stages

A working piece at each stage, on real data, so you steer early. The part that matters most comes first.

  4. 04

    Move the data

Existing records mapped, cleaned of duplicates and reconciled against the old system before anything is switched off.

  5. 05

    Hand over

Training, documentation and the keys. Your team can run it, and we keep it working for as long as you want us to.

One set of records underneath

Customers, products, suppliers, people and stock are each defined once. A second system joins the first; it does not start a competing copy.

Runs where you decide

Your own servers, a private cloud or a cloud account that belongs to you. Customer, employee and financial data stays on infrastructure you control.

Yours to keep

You own the code, the data, the configuration and the documentation. There is no licence fee to us and nothing stopping another team from taking it on.

05Questions

Before you ask.

Questions about PIM

What is the difference between a PIM and an ERP item master?

The ERP item master holds what the business needs to transact: code, unit, cost, stock. The PIM holds what a customer needs to choose: description, images, specifications, translations. They share the item and serve different readers.

Can a PIM clean up product data we already have?

Yes. Enrichment and de-duplication of existing records is usually the first job, and the one where automated extraction saves the most time.

Can it publish to marketplaces and print catalogues?

Yes. Each channel has a template and a set of required fields, and the PIM produces the feed or the layout data from the same approved record.

Tell us how the work runs today.

How the work runs today, what the system must do and what it has to connect to. A person reads it and replies honestly about whether to buy, extend or build.
